The North Irish news site, Belfast Live, published a series of photographs in 2016, reflecting the lives of workers of yesteryear. These images showcased various employees who had been doing their jobs for a long time.
It was a delightfully insightful feature; Yet one specific photo has since gained fame for some frightening reason.
The photograph was taken back in 1900 and shows a group of ten young women in a spinning mill, all dressed for work. At a glance, the photo represents a snapshot of what life was like for these girls. But a more rigorous investigation reveals something more disturbing.
